Technology News ? Flame Malware set Microsoft Security Certificates aflame

Flame-MalwareFlame malware has bumped in to meddle with Microsoft and had made use of its certification to validate their malice. Previous Sunday Microsoft is known to have launched an emergency Windows update to aware users about one of its trusted digital signatures that had been compromised by the infamous Flame malware that tried to get it authenticated. Flame malware by now has infected computers in several Middle Eastern Countries including Iran.

According to the updates, the patch invalidated three transitional Microsoft certificates which were made into use for encroaching ?spoof content, perform phishing attacks, or perform man-in-the-middle attacks?. Technology news sources confirm that Microsoft has also devastated certificates that were potential for code signing to access through Microsoft?s Terminal Services licensing certification authority (CA) which again links up to the Microsoft Root Authority. The authority issued certificates for users to authorize Remote Desktop services in their enterprises.

According to the Microsoft blog post explains that the old cryptography algorithms being susceptibility is easily compromised by constituents of Flame malware to camouflage its appearance in a way as if originated from Microsoft. The goodwill of officially-signed Microsoft code which is expected to be safe by default has been challenged and the skeptical Flame malware has intruded through without being traced.

Microsoft recommends Windows users to install the new KB2718704 patch. All you need to do is activate the enabled Automatic Updates and the patch would get installed automatically. If this process doesn?t prove to be of much help you may also get the patch installed manually by opening the Windows Update on your PC manually too. But then, Microsoft has also issued a notice that this is not much to be panicked about as this virus can be caught by most antivirus programs and hence the ?vast majority of customers are not at risk?.
