It is amazing how much a morning workout can improve your entire day. I used to have a difficult time waking up early enough to get a workout in until I realized how much better my day is when I make the commitment to get up and moving. Of course, whenever you can find time during the day to exercise is great, getting your heart rate up in the morning has many benefits.

1.?????It is easier to stick to a regiment if you exercise early in the morning. Things come up during the day that may prevent you from getting to the gym after work or going for that evening jog. It is easier to keep the commitment if you go to the gym before other obligations arise. If I wake up and go workout before I start my daily activities, I am less likely to let another activity get in the way like hanging out with my daughter, doing household chores, or even going out for happy hour. You may have great intentions to make it to that 4:30 yoga class, but chances are something else will come up.

2.?????Working out in the morning jumpstarts your metabolism and keeps it up throughout the day. Not only is it a metabolic booster, you are more likely to be conscious of eating healthy if you have already worked out. Your body will naturally crave the right foods to replenish, and you will be less likely to overeat.

3.?????Waking up at the same time every day makes it easier to wake up and helps regulate your entire nervous and endocrine systems.

4.?????Exercise elevates your mood and your mental sharpness. You will actually be more productive and energetic!
